Giants sign Wilmer Flores to two-year deal
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported earlier that the Giants signed infielder Wilmer Flores to a multi-year contract. Per Jon Heyman, the deal is for $6 million and includes a third-year option.
Flores, 28, hit .317/.361/.487 with nine home runs and 37 RBI in 285 plate appearances for the Diamondbacks last season. He mostly played second base but also spent some time at first base.
In San Francisco, the veteran Flores will likely once again see most of his time at second base, but he could also function in a utility role for the club.
